Amaero Engineering was established in March 2013 to commercialise knowhow in laser-based 3D Printing of metals by the Monash University Centre for Additive Manufacturing (MCAM) based in Notting Hill, Victoria. Since then, Amaero has grown in terms of capacity and capability to become a leader in the field of manufacturing and repair using additive manufacturing techniques and now has partners in North America and Europe in the Aerospace and Defence industries.
Amaero currently has a paid internship opportunity at its facility in Notting Hill, Victoria for a final year student or recent graduate to develop their design and manufacturing skills with metal 3D printing. Under the supervision of the Additive Manufacturing and IT Manager, the intern will engage in a number of activities, including:
- Design of support structures and part builds
- Operation of 3D printing facilities
- Quality Management System documentation and reporting
- Review of Customer Requirements
- Qualification processes for 3D printed parts
The role would be part-time and approximately 10 hours per week with some flexibility. Candidates must be eligible to work in Australia and are encouraged to outline any specific skills that may be relevant in the field of additive manufacturing.
